Weight Loss Advice

Regarding the Diets On This Site...

I consider overweight the single greatest health problem facing the American public and have believed this for 30 years. I believe that it is more important than, and/or causative for, breast, colon, and prostate cancer, heart disease, stroke, dialysis, diabetes, AIDS, accidents, pneumonia, flu, etc.

Reducing weight to trim in my practice is generally done best by a very high-fiber diet. When I say “best,” I also mean healthiest. Weight reduction in my practice generally begins with a high-protein diet similar to the South Beach or Atkins type diets. However, this high protein diet lasts for only two weeks. Then there is transition to another diet and finally to the very high fiber “Diet 4: All Cooked Soft And Warm (F,V,B Only) Weight Reduction Liv-It” which is huge(!) amounts of vegetables/vegetable soups.

Some kosher grocery stores have “kosher chicken bones(!) for soup,” which can be used on this as well as the other diets (actually Liv-its, not die-ts). There is not much meat on these kosher chicken bones, but they add tremendous flavor. Even this and all soups should be dominated by vegetables. In fact, our recipe titled “Tasty Soups and Stews” is exactly that, and one can “stuff oneself” when struggling with the ability to control the quantity of food he/she eats. It is always best to eat the smallest amount, but if one will eat more, then let it be cooked vegetables and vegetable soups.

These diets are not to be used as if I were your physician. They are merely listed for your information, and you would need to address using these diets with your personal health care provider. This site does not take care of anyone, and any information that is on the site is 100% for your education alone.
