Diet #3: Skim Milk Diet

Follow for 1 – 2 weeks.

  1. One whole quart of Rice Dream Vanilla Enriched or Eden Soy Extra (both contain vitamin A, D, and calcium), skim or buttermilk each day, which are best divided into eight 4-oz. glasses evenly over the day. To add an excellent mixture with a delicious tang, much like a milk shake, is 4 oz. of Rice Dream or Eden Soy with 2 oz. of raspberry soda. This does not permit Light-N-Lively, 1 % or 2% milk as substitutes for the skim or buttermilk. You may take the whole quart at one time or take it as 32 1 oz. shots. It is your milk, you can take it as you like. You must, however, have the whole quart.
  2. Use the vitamins, vegetables, fruit, and soups/stews of Diet #4.
  3. Once every other day have one regular sized serving of green salad (carrots, broccoli, colored lettuce, herbs, cucumbers, radishes, celery, cauliflower, cabbage - but not fruit, tuna, cottage cheese or anything else not specifically mentioned) with 2 tbsp. of regular (not dietetic) salad dressing. Regular salad dressings are those such as Thousand Island, mayonnaise, Roquefort, Green Goddess or 2 tbsp. of oil plus the desired amount of vinegar (wine vinegar recommended).
  4. Sanka (freeze-dry is better), Bancha or Kukicha or weak tea or coffee with part of your skim milk preferably, but Cremora or Cream may be used. Saccharin, Sweeta or Sucaryl may be used during the diet as you like. Use this one to support your hand-to-mouth habit.
  5. Two egg whites each day hard-boiled. Sift the eggs through a strainer and fry the whites with Molly McButter or Pam Spray, but without butter, margarine or grease. The yolks are to be discarded. The egg whites may also be chopped up and put into the salad.
  6. Medicines where prescribed.
  7. Three (12-oz.) bottles of Tab or Fresca each day as desired. This is optional.
  8. Sugarless gum, such as Carefree, three sticks per day as desired. This is optional.
  9. Close to two measured quarts (16-4 oz. glasses) of water or weak tea each day to flush out uric acid and protect the kidneys.

That’s all! There are no substitutes or additions.

Occasionally constipation occurs and is well treated with milk of magnesia.
